The following industry-standard CAD drawing file types are supported in hsCADCreator through the use of the Open DWG standard:

• DXF - Drawing eXchange Format

• DWG - DraWinG
  • Versions (r9, r10, r12, r13, r14, r15, r18, r21(2007))
• DXB - Drawing eXchange Binary
  • Versions (r9, r10, r12, r13, r14, r15, r18, r21(2007))
• DWF - Design Web Format
  • Versions (v4.2, v5.5, v6.0)
  • Formats (3D, Compressed Binary, Uncompressed Binary, Zipped ASCII Encoded 2D Stream, ASCII)

In addition, hsCADCreator also provides the ability to convert both between these formats and between different versions and types of these formats.

The following file formats may also be generated from a drawing:

In order to view and print drawings effectively, hsCADCreator supports the loading of plot style files. In addition, hsCADCreator's support for Plugins has made available a Plotstyle Editor Plugin that will allow editing of following plot style formats:

Extend the Usability of hsCADCreator with Plugins

hsCADCreator strives to be as flexible as possible. One way in which it can adapt to suit the needs of its users is to support units of extensible functionality. Call them plugins, addins, addons, extensions, or whatever you wish. They provide special functionality above and beyond the features of hsCADCreator. Two free plugins have been made available, and their details follow. If you are interested in developing your own plugin, contact our support staff for more information.

Vectorization Plugin

There is much to be said for using what resources you have on hand. If you already have a drawing on paper, it is useful and powerful to be able to digitize it. This Vectorization Plugin does just that. It takes as input a raster image (JPG, GIF, PNG, etc.) and outputs a DWG file that you can edit. Simply download and run the Plugin installer to get started. (Make sure you have installed hsCADCreator first)

Plotstyle Plugin

In order to view, print, and export drawings effectively, hsCADCreator supports the (readonly) loading of plot style files: Plot Style Table (.stb) and Color-dependent Plot Style Table (.ctb).
The Plotstyle Plugin picks up where hsCADCreator left off and provides the simple ability to edit and create these files. Simply download and run the Plugin installer to get started. (Make sure you have installed hsCADCreator first)
